Mining Museum Příbram belongs among the oldest museum of the Czech Republic. Its specialized activity continues on the work of former Land Museum in Příbram, which was established on 12th December 1886, thanks to personal initiative of national history-researcher, school principal, Ladislav Malý. Besides relics of town life, museum gathered lots of artifacts of local mining and metallurgy, dominant stimuli of dynamical development of region with the tradition reaching to prehistoric age. Apart from the site of Příbram-Březové Hory, Museum is located to areas surrounding city of Příbram, which are also afflicted by mining activity. For example there must be mentioned the mining of gold, antimony and granite in Vysokochlumecko; the mining of gold in Novoknínsko or iron ore, silver, lead and uranium ore in Vojna.
