The Municipal Museum in Polná was founded in 1895 and focuses especially on the history and present of the town and surrounding region. It resides on the premises of Polná Castle and manages the building of the castle, one of the chateau wings and also the building called ‚Old school‘. It operates four tour routes where you can see several expositions, for example: the pharmacy ‚Black Eagle‘, a merchant shop, exposition of ancient crafts, an old school and an extensive collection of historical clocks. Besides permanent exhibitions, the museum also organizes temporary exhibitions. The opening season runs from April to October. In addition, throughout the year the museum organizes various events, operates the museum library and a reading room.
